dumped a glass of water in my desktop keyboard and it mostly quit working, still waiting for it to dry out to see if it can be resurrected. if not, or maybe even if it can, might get one of the new apple keyboards, all thin and aluminum. working on a lot of design stuff lately, some for the image shop, some just on my own as exercises. stuff is looking good.

long time, no update

lots going on lately. the dog's getting huge, she weighs like 65 pounds now. had the sweet haskins family reunion action go down, good times. two weeks later, we hit up tricia and dino's wedding in victoria. the golf got rear-ended (again) en route, still sorting out the insurance stuff for that, the estimate came through and it says it'll cost at least $4600 to fix, if they want to fix it vs. total it. the wedding was pretty good though, my stomach was being a pussy, so i didn't get too liquored up. this last week, sam, eric, joe, mark, and two of their friends all came through pullman. went out to dinner then got our drink on further at my office. half the town was without power from this freak thunder/windstorm. 8 people fit in our apartment ok, but the line for the can in the morning gets kind of long. here are some photos....booyeah.

i got the new nine inch nails album the day it dropped, a while back. i had listened to it on the band's site before, and liked what i heard. i gave it a few listens through, mostly using it as background music for whatever i was doing at the time. i put it back on for driving to work the other day and discovered this track (the great destroyer) that i somehow missed in first listen or two. i'm really digging this track right now. it's a bit more singing and a lot less yelling than most the songs on the album, and the theme/lyrics are pretty interesting. definitely a nice de-stress after a hard day at work.

alicia got into her grad program! we're moving back to pullman end of june to get things going. luckily we kept all our boxes and didn't completely unpack yet. lula's getting bigger, she's gained at least 5 pounds in the 2 weeks we've had her, and she's still totally adorable. went to seaside for alicia's birthday with the dag and had a good time with her fam. not a whole lot else going on.

hit up vancouver cycles today, it's a pretty sweet bike shop. really helpful folks. got new bars, grips, and a brake lever there. the guy was even nice enough to cut the bars down a bit for me. also, moving within the week, into portland, should be interesting. our livingroom is nuts right now though.

the new el-p is killing it. tasmanian pain coaster is by far my favorite so far. it's like waiting for a subway on the platform with some weird kid you sort of know, hop on the train, get high, and it turns into a bad trip, an insane ride downtown on halucinogens. i'd love to make a video for this, at least in my head. it would probably look like some re-hashing at points, because el had that other video on a subway, but i'll figure some shit out, and ignore that context. oh, and the modest mouse that just dropped is sick too.

here's a new myspace-esque social networking type site. the front end is way more customizable, no more "I CUSTOMIZED MY MYSPACE WITH COOLLAYOUTS.COM" smeared across your page. you can add different modules, add image headers for each, upload audio, video, and photo. it's a little glitchy here and there, but i've found if you bounce back and forth between safari, firefox, and flock, you can usually find one that'll get past the problem. don't try changing colors by using the swatches in flock for sure though, same with firefox, for some reason, that usually kills the app, and anything you hadn't published is lost. but yeah, check it out. pretty sweet thus far.

the UK's wilson brothers did this thing up for the nike "silver service" air force one installation at london's dover street market. that badging on the bike is actually laser etched leather glued and/or riveted to the frame. i dig the twisted spokes, i really would like that done if i get a wheelset handmade. i really need to get some risers. and now i'm contemplating having my frame powder-coated flat black, and having custom done gloss black die cut decals to put on it. need to think up a color scheme, not sure if i'll go all black, or spice it up with an accent color. a cmyk themed top-tube pad would be sweet though.

plenty of bits and pieces of news in the last day or two. new amon tobin is out, and its ill. first single for el-p's i'll sleep when your dead dropped, it's called flyentology and its also ill. probably getting a pair of new gravis shoes, the bravas, of the new the spring/summer line. its up for viewing, but not on sale yet. so as soon as it goes live, i'm gonna have to cop a pair. i really want a pair of the black box stay high 149's, but those just aren't in the budget these days. neither is a $150 IRO FRAME! yeah, $150 for a frameset that normally sells for $329, in a superlight tubeset, with a 1" threaded fork option, and it can come in flat black. apparently the cut off to put down a deposit was today. damn. i'll be frequenting IRO and the FF/SS forum on bike forums more often. got out and played on the bike for a while, and my right knee already hurts. this doesn't bode well for snowboarding tomorrow. which reminds me, i need to figure out where/how to get an oregon sno-park pass for my car.

it's rainy, but the sun is out and shining once in a while. plus the gravis spring/summer line is up online. the new black box collection done with stay high 149 looks sick. they're trying a little hard to bring skate-style shoes to the country club in the royale collection though.

so i disappeared from the net and the blogosphere for a while. there was just work, and other stuff going on, and suddenly this stuff that i found so important to do didn't really mean anything. free time was better spent offline and outside, or just watching tv. new stuff going on, swooped a whole grip of good music, taking over my auto insurance, starting renters' insurance, paying on my own cell plan, only thing left is to take over car payments, and that's coming in june. aesop rock dropped a nike+ original run today to tide me over until his and el-p's full lengths release later this year. i don't know when aesops is dropping for sure, but el's is march 20th, so not too far off. there's a teaser on the def jux page, and it sounds ill. work is still somehow depressing. we hired one new person, so that'll hopefully offset that guy that trained for a week and stopped showing up/never called back. he won't be using mcmenamins as a reference on any applications anytime soon. there are still gaps in the schedule, that once in a while, i end up uncomfortably filling. fun stuff. friday 5-lates followed by a saturday opening just aren't legit. neither is the complete lack of law required 10 minute breaks. that's all i got for now. time to go wash some dishes and clean up the apartment a bit before work.

remember that guy, noah? he photographed himself everyday and time-lapsed the shots to show age and time. after utterly destroying a pair of shoes over the course of a few years, i've decided to document the changes in my brand new nike dunk premiums. over time, this will show the process of wear and tear. they'll become less and less a freshly manufactured item, and more of a part of me and my everyday life. i've decided i'll only photograph after a day of wear, and i won't bore you with actual everyday posts, maybe a 30-second video every month or something. we'll see if i can remember to do it every time and actually integrate it into my routine.
